Update to PortalTalk V2.5

To perform the update to PortalTalk V2.5, these administrative roles are required:

  • Global Admin in Microsoft 365, to do the PortalTalk App Consent

  • MS Teams Admin, to update the PortalTalk MS Teams app

  • PortalTalk Admin in PortalTalk, to make changes to the PortalTalk configuration (optional)

Steps to perform:

  1. Update PortalTalk’s permissions within your Microsoft 365 tenant. This is also referred as ‘the consent’.

  2. Updating the Portaltalk MS Teams V2.5 app

If the above actions are not executed, certain new functions of PortalTalk V2.5 will not work. Although, the old MS Team app will work correctly.

These are the new permissions we request you to consent.

  • Read all channel settings

  • Read all Apps in Catalog

  • Files Read All

  • Channel Members Read All

  • Team Members Read All

These new permissions are needed to build the data for the new analytic services to get the activity statuses of SharePoint and MS Teams workspaces/channels.
